Dgeum installation guide
How to install the tiles
Our cement tiles stand out for their natural characteristics and unique manufacturing process. For this reason, installation guide must follow specific guidelines to ensure an optimal and long-lasting finish. Please follow this detailed guide, intended for professional installers.
Installation guide and cleaning
Surface preparation for installation
The surface where the tiles will be installed must be perfectly flat and rigid. It is essential that the substrate is completely dry before installation.
Installation techniques for cement tiles
Use a flexible C2 tile adhesive. The adhesive must be applied evenly, with no voids beneath the tiles.
Do not strike the tiles directly to level them; instead, use a wooden batten of at least 40 cm to apply even pressure.
Our tiles are factory-treated with a high-resistance acrylic protection, so no further treatment is required after installation.
The natural curing process of cement means that site humidity may temporarily cause slight discolorations on the surface. These organic variations reflect the material’s breathability and will gradually fade as the tiles stabilize and reach their equilibrium with the environment.
Remove excess material immediately using a sponge and plenty of clean water, repeating as necessary. Do not use metal scrapers or abrasive pads.
Grouting and recommended joint width (1.5 mm)
We recommend 1.5 mm joints.
For grouting, use a suitable product for 1.5 mm joints in a colour close to the tiles.
During grouting, clean with a sponge and plenty of water before the grout begins to set.
Installation on underfloor heating (C2S2 adhesive and 3 mm joints)
Our cement tiles are suitable for underfloor heating thanks to their composition of cement, stone, and marble dust. These materials provide excellent thermal conductivity, but the following guidelines must be observed:
- Ensure a continuous adhesive bed with no voids.
- Install using a C2S2 adhesive.
- Use 3 mm joints and a CG2 grout.
- The surface temperature in contact with the tiles must not exceed 50 °C.
Post-installation cleaning and maintenance
To clean the tiles, simply use a damp cloth and neutral liquid soap.
Intended use
Our cement tiles offer a high-performance solution for both interior and exterior spaces, performing exceptionally well as both flooring and wall cladding. This versatility allows architects and designers to create seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor environments, maintaining a consistent aesthetic while benefiting from the material’s natural durability.
Claims
To ensure the validity of the product warranty, it is essential to follow all instructions in this guide. Unfortunately, we cannot accept claims for products that have been installed without respecting the technical specifications outlined above.
