At Dgeum, we take the concept of kitchen and bathroom design to another level, specifically, we integrate the exclusive metals most used in faucets with our cement tiles to create a global concept of decoration.
Cement and Concrete
Cement is a versatile material. It is widely used in architecture and interior design, and stands out for its naturalness.
Concrete is obtained from cement mixed with various aggregates and water. Concrete is a living material that evolves over time, changing its appearance, especially its shine and texture.
At Dgeum, we have developed a concrete composition with characteristics that enhance the purity of cement and show us its beauty.
We have created a product manufactured in a sustainable way. Our pieces are pressed by hand and hardened at room temperature for 28 days.
The hardness of our parts is obtained naturally, without firing or emissions during our manufacturing process. Consequently, the result is exclusive low-emission parts.
Be inspired by our creative concrete tiles
Our pieces change over time. Consequently, their textures and their own natural wear and tear transmit different sensations. Thus, we manage to make tiles that go beyond an inert piece.
We make tiles with materials used in architecture and interior design. That is why they combine perfectly with structural and decorative materials such as concrete, metal, stone and wood.
How do we make our creative concrete tiles?
In reality, our manufacturing is simpler than it seems.
The complexity lies in the number of processes involved.
We will try to explain them step by step.
First, we make a mixture with several aggregates, cement and water. At this point, the humidity of the environment is very important, because depending on it, we will need an amount of water in our mixture.
Secondly, we press the pieces and carefully remove them. Their only resistance is due to compaction, since the cement has not yet begun to harden. This is why they are very fragile.
After the next 5 minutes, the parts can be handled and stored in stacked trays that follow a trolley circuit. In this way, they reach a chamber that maintains the humidity, that is to say, that prevents the evaporation of the water inside the pieces. It is also relevant to say that the more water the piece retains, the more hardness it will acquire during its setting curve. In this chamber, the pieces will spend the next 28 days.
Then, we take the pieces with their optimum hardness to enter the calibration line. Here, we leave the pieces with their final thickness. This process requires water to cool the calibration discs, therefore, we have the parts with a very high humidity.
Then, we let the pieces dry for 72 hours. After this time, they will pass through the lacquering line, where we apply an acrylic protection that reduces their absorption and leaves them protected.
Finally, the pieces go to the finishing tables, where, one by one, we pass them through an orbital machine that accentuates the natural shine of the cement. Afterwards, they are fitted together and ready for shipment.

Porcelain Tile or Cement Tile?
Certainly, our pieces have some characteristics of a porcelain tile. That is to say, low thickness, they can be used for flooring or cladding and have low absorption.
But we could also say that they are tiles. Since they have some similarities to the cement tile, such as, for example, the basis of its composition and the type of press we use.
So what do we do? Rather, it is a new concept that has the advantages of both, the versatility of a tile with the naturalness of a cement tile.
